Welcome Teachers and Staff Members

The Fairy Godmother Fund was created during COVID, when teachers and school staff were carrying a lot on their shoulders and finding creative ways to make school feel safe, comforting, and fun for our kids. What started as a simple idea quickly turned into one of our favorite PTO traditions.

So what exactly is it?

Each year, we receive updated lists of teachers and staff members who play an essential role in making your child’s school day a great one. We then divide the Fairy Godmother Fund budget between those staff members and give them the opportunity to request items that help support their classrooms, students, and day-to-day environment in ways the general school budget may not cover.

Sometimes teachers pool their money together to purchase larger shared items. Other times, they use it for things they are running low on — paints, classroom supplies, sensory tools, movement break items, games, organization materials, flexible seating, books, and more. The requests are always thoughtful, creative, and centered around making school a better experience for kids.

FAQ

Where does the money come from?
The Fairy Godmother Fund is made possible through PTO fundraising efforts and the generosity of students, families, sponsors, and community members throughout the school year. The amount each teacher receives varies year to year depending on fundraising success.

When can teachers request items?
Teachers and staff members can submit requests from the start of the school year through March 31st.

How does the process work?
Staff members fill out a simple request form and attach links to the items they would like us to purchase. They can include important details like sizing, colors, quantities, or preferences. The items do not need to come from Amazon — we are happy to order from other retailers as long as the request falls within their allotted amount.

Once the form is submitted, our PTO team works to review and place the order within approximately one week. Teachers will receive an email confirmation once their order has been processed.

Why is it called the Fairy Godmother Fund?
Because sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. A fresh set of supplies, a calming corner item, new paint for an art project, or a movement tool for students can completely change the energy of a classroom. We love being able to quietly sprinkle a little extra magic into the school year for the people who show up for our kids every single day.
